Style. Fail.

Spotted on the advertisement at the train station.

I realised the quality of the photo is not so good. So what is wrong with the advert?

The male model is wearing a 3 button suit with ALL three button buttoned. Small thing, nonetheless spotted by a bored commuter.

Hello, Bonjour, Ciao

Yes, we just spent two wonderful weeks in London (United Kingdom), Paris (France) and Florence (Italy). It is my first time to Europe and I must say that I throughly enjoyed the trip. The experience brought what I always see in the movies and books to life and it is quite fun to see what is the big deal with Harrods, or experiencing French’s hospitality, or the artistry of Michelangelo. Here my short take on the different places based on what I have experienced:

London:

  • Weather is ‘blah’, shopping is a tiny note short of a ‘blah’.
  • It is cool that most museums are free to visit and free to take as much photos as you like. Also noticed they “borrowed” a lot of cultural artifects during they colonization days.
  • West-end is really fantastic and I ranked our visit to Queen’s theatre to see Les Miserables as one of the highlights of the trip. 4 thumbs up!!

  • Pub culture is really strong and I can see why. The range of beers they have are wonderful. I love the funny names that they have, “Queens Head”, “Robin Hood”, “Shoulder of Mutton” etc . If I ever going to open my own Pub, it will be called “Drunken Chicken”

Where did they find names like that! It is apparently the ancient name given to the promontories that flank the entrance to the Strait of Gibraltar.

  • Real Brits are really rare commodities around London. You can see plenty of other nationalities hanging around.
  • It is a really easy place to live. Tranportation good.Check. Food options good.Check. 24hr supermarket available. Check. Now we just need to adjust the weather.

Paris:

  • Have to try Beef Tartare! You cannot say you have been to France unless you tried it. Food is good, if you managed to find a resturant with English menus. Servings are huge too. Love their bread.
  • Again, museums are cool too. Only problem is that you have to queue to pay. or pay to queue. Either way goes.

*Bhish!* Arrghhh.. that is my ribs! You horrible naked man. Why are you even naked in the first place? You are not a Centaur.

  • Shopping is quite good too. Home to Chanel, Hermes and yummy Macroons.
  • Love the architecture of the city and it is a good thing that it is not built up. Eiffel Tower is a sight to behold. Still a must visit!

  • Saw Miss Mona Lisa up close. She looks tired, I think entertaining millions of visitors year on year is quite tough. Saw Venus de Milo too. Don’t really know what is the big fuss of a naked sculpture with no hands. Oh well… Saw Monet, Rodin etc too. All their work left a deep impression, I can see why they are the master.
  • French metro is very easy to use, after the first day, we are zipped around Paris like the French.
  • Seemingly feels more dangerous than London, the heighten sense of awareness whenever we are in the less crowded places.

Florence:

  • Beautiful place. The hub of artistry and cultural. Michelango, Donatello, Raphel and Leonardo …. No, they are not those mutanted turtles. Architecturally also a sight to behold with the lots of italian marble. Love.

  • Italian takes pride in their heritage. Don’t even try to insult an Italian’s mother. Well, at least that is what our guide told us.
  • Bistecca de Fiorentine. Go google.
  • Shopping is good here too. Home of Salvatore Ferragamo and Gucci. Yes, right in Florence. Also for the outlet malls around the area.
  • Sculpture of David balls is awe inspiring. No photos can replace seeing it for real up close with da balls man. Great work, Michelango.
  • They like to carve/ paint/ draw naked men and women. Oh I can tell Madonna and son is a pretty hot topic for them in the early 14th -16 th century. Don’t believe? Go see Uffizi gallery. I think they don’t wear much in the early days.
  • Real natural, laid back and beautiful place. I can understanding why all the great artists flocked there.
